A Side of Syrup Podcast - Season 2! - EP014: Finding Energy & Wellness Wherever Life Takes You with Angie Aldape
Introducing our first episode of Season 2
My first job in LA led me to meet Angie. She was herself right from the get go: organized, responsible, and with a beaming smile of sunshine. She immediately put me in her tight circle of friends and in 15 years, hasn’t let me go. For that, I’m incredibly thankful.
While we have many shared interests - traveling, good food & wine, fitness - we’ve each found ways to incorporate wellness into our lives in a way that works just for us, at whatever stage of season of life we’re in.
In this episode, Angie, a Microsoft executive, dives into what works for her and how she keeps healthy and avoids burnout. Angie also has great tips for what to pack while traveling (and well, maybe have an awkward run-in or two with TSA) and how to sleep well.
Interesting Things on the Internet: Edition 24
One of my all time favorite projects is back. For a few years (and many of you are familiar and excited about this) I ran a weekly newsletter about cool things in culture that I saw online. A curation of things that are interesting and well, talking points for a conversation - or even a date. I’ve had so many requests to bring this back. So here it is, picking up right where we left off with this week’s list.
The holidays are here and this year I’m HERE for it. Looks like others are too.
Oh Baby! Pre and Postpartum Health Coaching
Oh Baby! - Pre and Postpartum Coaching
Ever wonder what you should be doing or eating when trying to get pregnant or recovering from giving birth? Is Google just not giving you the answers you're looking for?
If you're nodding your head yes, this is the coaching program for you.
As a mom of a five year old and one year old twins, who was back in her jeans after 11 days with both pregnancies… I realize that bouncing back wasn’t the expectation. I could fit in those jeans, but was I okay? Not really.
I recovered well because I took care of myself well before, during, and after each pregnancy. Through, food, lifestyle modifications, and supplements, I was able to heal. And feel like myself.
I’ve shared this plan with friends and with mom groups. But now I want to share it with you. Planning and planning to recover should be non-negotiables and I plan to change the game and “bouncing back” narrative, starting with coaching you.
Goal Setting for 2023
Planning the plan.
It sounds scary, but it’s not. Look at it this way. You put an address into your map app on your phone and that map takes you where you want to go. On the best route. In the shortest amount of time. Planning out your 2023 goals does the same thing. Gets you to where you want to go smoothly and quickly. With less roadblocks.
A Side of Syrup Podcast - EP 013: Finding the Right Light with Molly McCauley
I knew Molly’s work was special right from the get go, but then I met her in person and I’ve been a fan girl ever since. Molly’s creative and soulful and real. She’s always seeking to do better, learn more, and push the boundaries of what it means to be a photographer.
The light that shines through in Molly’s photos and her quick to sell out Make Pretty Workshop’s are straight from the source - Molly herself.
A Side of Syrup Podcast - EP 011: The Journey to Building Your Wildest Dreams with Shelton Wilder
From retail roots to real estate icon.
Sixteen years ago I was struck by a Southern woman with incredible charisma, gumption, and kindness. She was the kind of person who was going somewhere. Somewhere big. I knew I had to follow along for her ride.
With hard work and tenacity, Shelton has built her company from the ground up. Recruiting talent who has her values and passion for giving back.
One thing I love about Shelton is that she is who she is. She doesn’t hold back or hide anything. Her life’s lessons have fueled her growth and make for an amazing learn & listen.
A Side of Syrup Podcast - EP 010: Ask Me Anything with Shannon Pfeffer of Syrup Coaching
Slide into my DMs and you’ll often see the same questions come up.
In this shortie episode, I give long (and long-winded) answers to the top ten questions I get asked often. From how tall I am to how I tackle my job without burning out, it’s all here. Answered candidly and openly. Plus, there are some of my favorite products and brands mentioned that I absolutely swear by & have stood the test of time.
If I missed a burning question you have during this “AMA” ask me anything episode, leave it in the comments and I’ll be sure to answer it on social media.
Making the New Year Feeling Stick
Years ago my old boss tried to give me advice and I didn’t listen.
Mostly because I wasn’t yet at his life stage. Married, family, kids in school. I was freshly in Los Angeles and focused on making friends and connections wherever I could. But as I enter the phase of life where he was when he doled out the advice it truly makes sense.
Each new school year is your new New Year. Your starting over point. Your new time of year to make resolutions that stick.
All of that rings true. But I’d like to add another line.
The energy of this season is vibrant, work to hang onto that feeling for as long as you can.
