Sunday to Wednesday, Keeping the Motivation

Sunday nights come around and like me (maybe?) you’re also planning what to do and how to get everything done over the next five days.

You start that week off strong. When Wednesday afternoon rolls around, you feel a lull. The weekend’s almost here, right? Wrong! You’ve still got half of your week to get to where you planned to go. Here are five tips to get all your work done for the weekend:

  1. Make a List, Set a Timer: Pick three things you need to get done and allot a time to get them each done. Get started and make sure to complete each task in the set amount of time, then give yourself a break. (i.e. online grocery shopping for 25 mins, Pilates arm workout 25 mins, catching up on family admin emails 25 mins).

  2. Delete Time-consuming Apps: You can delete Instagram and reinstall it. Whatever it is - fantasy football, social media, a streaming service. If you need to focus, just delete the apps that take up most of your time (an Apple phone will tell you which ones these are) and install them again on Friday afternoons.

  3. Turn off phone notifications: Easier said than done. But if you can shut off your email, text, and social media notifications, it makes looking at your phone pretty unappealing.

  4. Thinking of your weekend plans: Sometimes remembering what’s ahead excites us, enough to move forward and get everything done we need to.

  5. Do the hardest thing first: If you have a task that’s been lingering for days, do that one first. You’re less likely to put off everything else. Plus, that behemoth of a task is done!

What else do you do to stay super motivated throughout the week? Leave it in the comments below.
