Meditate Anywhere
I know that you know about meditating. But there are a million reasons why traditional meditating doesn't work or doesn't stick. You need a quiet atmosphere, quiet thoughts, and enough time to zen out. It's just not realistic. And it doesn't fit into the day of really busy people.
Enter Meditate Anywhere. A place and a space where you can find that shut-down moment for your mind. Here's how to do it:
Pick a place. (I like going to a restaurant by myself, stopping while on a walk, or even my car parked at my house.)
Be alone. Or at least have no one in your direct personal space.
Set a timer for 2 minutes. Ease into it. Work your way up to 5 or 10 minutes.
Close your eyes.
Think about one thing only. It can be a mantra or a phrase or something you want really badly for your life.
Allow other thoughts to come and go.
If you're struggling to focus or overly self-aware about what you're doing, pick an activity to do with your hands that's slow. Coloring, drawing, etc. Start there. Then when you are ready, try again to #meditateanywhere.
