All In For Simplicity

Making the case for easing up on our routines and ourselves.

For this week’s Wellness Wednesday, we’re discussing the art of living more simplified lives. Things can be hard or they can be easy - but let’s make a concentrated effort to make things simple. A few less steps equals alot less stress.

Earlier this week I was reminded of a flashback moment. Probably one of the only times I’ve been starstruck - meeting the queen of simplicity herself, Alice Waters. Water’s new cookbook just came out and I waited in line to have her sign it. I was shaking as I handed her my book. The appeal is easy - simple, local ingredients that make easy to cook and love food. It’s a no brainer.

Same thing goes for those home organizing shows, showing us tips and hacks for making our complex things (like a closet or a pantry) so simple.

What else can you do to eliminate the extra and get back to doing things simply? I for one plan to revisit Water’s cookbook and serve a small green salad, with fresh lemon juice and good olive oil with every dinner this week.

Leave your simple steps in the comment. I can’t wait to learn from you too!
