Interesting Things On the Internet: Edition 4

Summer is here. And the world feels like it's moving (some in the right direction and some in the very wrong). Wherever you're at in the world, I hope you're feeling a hopeful shift. Summer is about being free, getting an ample amount of vitamin D, and watermelon & ice cream on every holiday. And most importantly, play. It's how we all learn. Whether you're a kid or an adult, learning by doing is a critical way to make something stick if you're looking to make a change - in this season or overall - make time to play, just like on a warm summer day.

Wellness Community: Serenbe, an expensive, yet dreamy wellness-based community sits outside Atlanta, Georgia. A utopia for its residents - community meeting places, hyper-local vegetables, a playhouse even. The promise of a balanced life becoming a full-time reality sounds promising. But what about the quote that's on my website - the sweet isn't as sweet without the sour. If every day is terrific, will that get boring too?

Distance Disco: Host a disco or join a disco (with strangers!) if you're craving a dance party [like so many of us are after ten weeks], start one, join one, and dance it out.

Realistic Crayon Colors: Working with a makeup chemist, Crayola developed a realistic palette of skin color crayons. While this isn't the mass change we need in the US, at least, it is a small part to teach future generations about the beauty of different races and ethnicities.

Collaborative Whiteboard: Like so many of you, I learn visually, and writing things out or drawing on a whiteboard is a critical part of my day. But at home, I've got a mini whiteboard, and it doesn't replace a whiteboard wall or the interaction around building something with a team. This whiteboard allows you to do just that.

Millennials Turning 40: We knew Millennials were different from every other generation, now the data shows it. Gone are the days of the "me" generation… not quite. Only 3 in 10 Millennials are married with kids; this is 40% less than Gen X. Lots more fun facts about the generation are published in the new study.

Remote Cheering: To replace the sounds of a sporting event, Yamaha created a technology to mimic the sensation of a stadium full of fans. It's almost like experiencing surround sound in a movie for the first time. Pretty cool.
